International bestselling novelist Kate Mosse has launched the global #WomanInHistory campaign, in partnership with Pan Macmillan, 'honouring and celebrating women in history' ahead of International Women's Day.
Through the campaign, the City of Tears author has invited people to nominate the women in history they most wanted to champion, or 'who they thought should be better known', and has received thousands of suggestions from readers and celebrities alike, including Meera Syal, Lorraine Kelly, Richard Osman, Konnie Huq, JoJo Moyes, and Noma Dumezweni. Mosse commented 'The #WomanInHistory campaign is part of a broader movement to put women's names and stories centre stage and I think it's think it's a positive sign of how, in these rather grim times, we want to celebrate courage, sisterhood, diversity and inclusivity and show gratitude to those who have come before us'.
